Painting with Light

I had no idea it’s been a month and a half since my last post so I better get busy updating!

This was an experiment in the back yard after seeing some incredible stuff on Flickr. I tried my hand at it and to make this sort of photo I put the camera on the bulb setting and opened the shutter, walked out in front and painted a picture with a flashlight, then walked back to the camera and closed the shutter.

Best Blues on the Internet

This is a short shout-out to the two best blues shows on the internet. These two shows are so good that I canceled my Sirius satellite radio subscription. Yes, I think they’re that good. Do me favor and check them out for yourselves!

By the way, they don’t pay me to say this stuff. I put my money where my mouth is and I make a donation or two a year to help support the shows and keep them going.

Price of Things

It’s funny how the price of memory cards has changed so much over the years. I found a dusty old SanDisk box in my closet. I pulled it down to throw it away but, before I did I checked inside to make sure I wasn’t throwing away anything important.

Inside the box was the receipt – SanDisk Extreme III – SD 1GB – purchased from B&H Photo 09/04/05 – for $114.95. Hmm, I just bought the same card for Trina’s digital camera – Extreme III SD but, 2GB in size for…. $19.95!

Wow, $100 price decrease AND twice the size!

This is one of the brightest rainbow’s I’ve ever seen. I saw it for most of my 30 mile drive home from work but, my angle between the clouds and the sun resulted in a very faint, almost invisible rainbow.

Suddenly, after rounding a bend in the road, the colors just exploded. I’m on a new section of highway so I could easily pull over to the side to snap this photo.
