Orton Imagery

I was browsing the internet this weekend and came across a technique called Orton Imagery in an article written by Darwin Wiggett. The general idea is to take two photos, one sharp and one blurry, and combine them to create a painterly affect.

I like the result! If you want to give a try then google “orton imagery” and you’ll find lots of details.

Mount Jefferson State Natural Area

Mt Jefferson

We visited Mount Jefferson because of it’s location in the northwest corner of North Carolina and because it’s altitudes are above 4,000 feet. Even though it’s the first week in October we were rewarded with the first fall colors in the state.
