I love my digital camera but, the feature I’ve missed most when switching from 35mm to digital is the ability to add filters for special effects. Trina solved that problem for me this year by giving me a lens adapter and two filters for my Canon S2IS digital camera. The lens adapter fits over the camera lens and allows me to screw 58mm filters into place. The two filters Trina gave me were a polarizer and a infrared filter.
The polarizer has been my favorite filter. The pro photographers tell you to shoot early in the morning or late in the evening, both times when the sun is low in the sky, for the best light. Well, I rarely seem to be in the right place at the right time and I end up taking most of my photographs during the harshest mid-day sun. A polarizer can help people like me by reducing some of the glare on our subjects.
